Switching your Mortgage Could Save you £400 a Year
Research from Citizens Advice has revealed that home owners in the UK who don’t remortgage when their fixed term deal ends will automatically be placed on their standard variable interest rate – with an average cost to the homeowner of £400 extra per year.
Many home owners are unaware of just how much they could save by switching. Citizens Advice’s research highlighted that first-time buyers in particular can be especially vulnerable and can end up paying an additional £1,359 a year when their fixed term mortgage deal ends; as they typically have more time left on their mortgage.
